Some advice from you please!

I have wondered about something for a while, but not really got around to doing anything about it! I have had quite a few people asking if they can do QPs with my kit and to be honest I don't want QPs all over the place that I can't keep control of. FYI, I have given permission to Vicki (bubblesbabbles) to do QPs and to Lori who has some already she did for herself and I've said she can share those on her new blog. I've also given a few other permissions to various people for various things, but I am losing track!!

My dilemma is that I would like to have a CT, BUT, as I only offer freebies, there is no real incentive.... Most designers let their CT have their kits for free in order to do layouts for them and that's the payment, but I don't have anything to give that's unique! Any ideas from you lovely ladies? What are your thoughts on this, do CT members necessarily need to have these kinds of rewards, or are people just happy to get regular mentions for their work and/or blog on mine? I don't know - any help is gratefully received! See you later with a new kit starting.

Vicki, my suggestion to you is to go ahead an have your CT...and offer your kit's to them before you release it to the general public...that would be the incentive. That way you could show LO's from your CT with the kits when you release them. Just my suggestion. HTH. Blessings.

I think many of us looking to CT are really looking for a place to share our interpretation of someone else's lovely kit with permission. Like many, I misinterpreted someone's TOU in the past, thinking you just had to credit the designer and you were
"good to go" in regard to giving out QPs, etc. Because of so many stringent rules, we are left with kits we can't do much with. Thankfully I have my own blog and am happy posting LO's there, but who really sees it? I like to make calendar desktops, but it is very hard to find designers who will give permission. I would imagine from your end it would be lovely to see what people did with your kits...which by the way are really terrific! (Thanks so much for your generosity!!!)
So...answering your question...do we need incentive with a "gift"? No, just having the designer post our LO's and QPs is gift enough!

Personally I would love to be on your CT simply because I love your work. And I agree with tricertifiedx2. Letting the CT 'play' with the kit before it's released would be incentive enough.

I think the others are right. If you offer your kits to your CT first, that would be more than enough. I personally would LOVE to be on your CT as well. Your work is always awesome and seems to be perfect and exactly what I need to scrap my pics.

I agree with everyone too just being able to play with your kits before any one else would be a great honour and I would love to examples of other peoples work at the same time as you realise the kits it kind of gives you so much more inspiration and makes you itching to play with a kit before it is finished downloading. I love all your work and would love to be on your CT it would be a great honour. As for the quick pages you could have QT (a quick page team) who just make quick pages and you could post a link on your site to there blogs. Good luck on making your decisions it is never easy.

I do agree with everyone above, but I also think that people wanting to do QP with your kits is almost like having a CT, I would just let a certain number of people do them, once you see a few examples of their work and "APPROVE" them to do them and make sure to link their sites to yours and vice versa! Because some people perfer QP's over kits! That way you're in control of it all.

Good luck with it all, I'm a big fan!!!

Vicki, Vicki, Vicki - Anyone who would turn you down because there are not enough incentives - they are not worthy! Your work is incredible. I would say 90% of what I do with my LO's is from your kits. Also, thanks so much for the kind words about my blog. You are very kind and I'm still just a novice so it's really special that you took the time to post a comment. I'm feeling quite special right now - lol! Wish I had more advice but I'm so new at this, I'm not good for much. Take care!

I agree with everyone else. I love your kits and wouldn't want anything additional as "payment" if I were on your team.

Well the CT part has been covered & I agree. What you could do is get a CT together & then have someone who oversees them & do a CT blog & there you could offer the QPs everyone makes & keep track of them. I guess anyone who'd want to make qps could send them to your CT person & they could offer them on the blog also. Just a thought. Your stuff is great & thats payment enough. Thanks

i like shell's idea of having all of the QPs made by multiple people (could be random people each kit or a CT) on one blog page that is a great idea and it would help you keep track of the pages and also allow you to monitor the pages to make sure they meet your standards

when i was on a paper DT we got the kits for free but in the digi world there is so much free stuff out there that i think no payment is neccessary. I like the idea of the CT getting the kit a week or so before it is relased on the site!

i love your work by the way - keep it coming LOL and thank you for sharring it

I agree with 'shell', a blog to share everything in one place seems like it would work well. If others are allowed to send their QP's to be posted there you can just let them post a link on their blog to the QP blog. As for a reward, the reward I enjoy most is the friendships from others in the digi community that have something in common with me. I see you have plenty of volunteers, if I can be of any help please let me know. Thank you for sharing your talent with us.

Vicki, I would be first in line to apply for a CT spot - no incentive required (other than the pleasure of using your awesome kits). Cheers, Sara

Vicki,
Here it is from the horse's mouth (so to speak)! When I shamelessly begged to be an "honorary CT" it was because I enjoy creating LO's with your beautiful kits. I started offering QP's on my blog as a kind of kick in the rear way of forcing myself to complete more pages for my books. Then I found that when I would post a LO, everyone would then ask where the QP was. That was when I began to search out designers who would do the "you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours" thing. Usually the purpose of offering a QP is to promote sales of the kit. I only make one QP per kit and post a link to the original designer (whether it is a freebie or a for sale kit). Although I am only on one "official" CT, I have agreements with several designers. It's a win-win situation! The key word here is PROMOTION. Here's how it works with freebies. I post a little gift on my blog that I am allowed to share (that's my payment)and I send people to your blog, they then become devoted followers, and when you do start selling, you have a ready made customer base! (That's your incentive to have a CT)! If you want to have a full blown CT, go for it! I wouldn't let the money issue stop me. Being able to show what different people can do with your creations is always amazing. But I do agree that you definitely do need to keep control, maybe having an official CT is the way to go. That way you have a short list of who is allowed to do what. Okay, now that I have written a novel here I'm gonna say bye and let you mull it over. BTW, love the looks of this new one! Thanks so much for sharing!
Hugs,
Vicki in Texas

I too would love to be part of your CT just to be able to work with your kits!! No incentive necessary!!! For me, it would be great just to be called part of your team :) Good luck and I will be watching to see if you post for a CT !

Vicki,

Your site was the very first digital scrapbook site I ever saw. I have been hooked ever since. I couldn't agree more with those who say they would be your CT with or without incentive. I'm thinking that the link and mention of your CT's blogs would be incentive enough for me!

good luck and thank you so much for all your hard work and beautiful kits!

I agree with tricertifiedx2 in that you just provide your CT the kits in advance.
